Manchester United could make an approach to sign Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez if a move for Adrien Rabiot falls through.

The Argentine has been one of Betis' best performers over recent seasons, and he was on the radar of Arsenal last summer.

According to AS, United have made initial contact with his agents, and could make a serious approach if they don't land Rabiot.

The club have already agreed a transfer fee with Juventus for the Frenchman, but they will need to negotiate personal terms.

His controversial agent/mother Veronique is in-charge over the same, and she is currently waiting to know Monaco's position.

The French outfit are a possible destination for Rabiot this summer if they reach the Champions League through the qualifiers.

Hence, Veronique could delay negotiations for now. If there is a setback, United could turn their attention to landing Rodriguez.

Rodriguez could be prised away for around €20m. The 28-year-old seems a better fit over Rabiot as he is more composed in midfield.
