West Ham manager hints at Ross Barkley move
West Ham manager David Moyes has hinted that a move for Ross Barkley could be made before the transfer window slams shut, after the England international had been released from his contract at Chelsea. The Blues have given Barkley a free exit and released the player from the last 12 months of his deal.
West Ham are looking for midfield reinforcements before the window closes, and Barkley is one player mentioned.
When asked about a move for the former Everton player, David Moyes said: “I would never rule anybody out. I gave him his debut at 16. If it’s not us, I’d wish him well.”
West Ham are to do battle with Bournemouth and Burnley in a move for Barkley.
Barkley is reportedly looking for a salary of around £80,000 in a move to his next club, and is considering a transfer abroad if that opportunity presents itself. Barkley could look at the transfer of Dele Alli to Besiktas as inspiration for his next destination, as Dele Alli too seeks to resurrect his own career abroad in a different country.
