Trossard set for Spurs move this month?

Tottenham Hotspur are firm favourites to sign Brighton and Hove Albion attacker Leandro Trossard this January transfer window, as Spurs look for attacking reinforcements ahead of an injury to Richarlison. With uncertainty over the long-term future of star player Harry Kane, it could be possible that Spurs are signing Trossard as a replacement.

The 28-year-old has been with Brighton since 2019, having spent several years with Belgian club Racing Genk. It is only in recent years that the 28-year-old has caught the eye in the Premier League, and a first national team cap with Belgium followed in 2020.

The White Hart Lane club are ready to pay £29 million to sign Trossard after Antonio Conte was given guarantees that the club will spend funds during the transfer window.

In more recent seasons Trossard has played as a lone forward, but is comfortable playing as a winger or attacking midfielder. This season, Trossard has scored 7 Premier League goals in 16 games, just one goal away from his personal record from last season.

It is understood that Spurs are the sole club interested in a move for Trossard.
