Arsenal in advanced contract talks with defender
Arsenal are in advanced contract talks with William Saliba, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners recently committed Gabriel Martinelli to a new long-term deal and Bukayo Saka is expected to do the same.
Their next priority is the future of Saliba whose contract expires next summer.
Talks have been ongoing with the centre-back for some time and Romano claims that Arsenal are now making progress.
Saliba has been excellent for the Gunners in his debut season. He has formed a terrific partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes.
Gabriel signed a new deal earlier in the campaign and the Gunners seem optimistic that Saliba will do the same very soon.
Arsenal recently went five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League following their 4-0 win over Everton.
They will be hoping to extend the advantage over the Cityzens this weekend. City face a tricky game against Newcastle.
Arsenal, on the other hand, host Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.
