Liverpool want to sign Chelsea defender?
Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Chelsea defender Levi Colwill ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Reds recently registered a stunning 7-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League at Anfield.
Despite this, there are underlying defensive issues and Jurgen Klopp is said to be eyeing another young centre-back.
According to Football Insider, Colwill is being closely monitored by the Reds ahead of a possible summer approach.
The 20-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Brighton & Hove Albion where he has been hugely impressive.
He will return to the Blues at the end of the campaign and it remains to be seen whether he continues at the London club.
The Blues have signed three new centre-backs this season in Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile.
They are planning to sign another in Josko Gvardiol this summer.
Hence, Colwill may struggle for game time and he could be tempted to join the Reds where he could get more minutes.
Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are currently the main starters but there is a genuine lack of quality behind the duo.
Joel Matip is no longer in his prime while Joe Gomez has also failed to find the consistency after a raft of injury concerns.
