Man Utd confirm big injury blow for midfielder

Marcel Sabitzer news

Sabitzer out for rest of the season

Manchester United have confirmed that Marcel Sabitzer will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The Austrian signed for the Red Devils on loan from Bayern in January and he has made 18 appearances.

He has fared decently with three goals and one assist but is expected to play no more part for the club.

Sabitzer is set to undergo rehabilitation for his injury and it is unclear whether United will re-sign him.

The midfielder has not been brilliant during his loan spell and United seem unlikely to make a permanent move.

The club are currently in talks to sign Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer and he could replace the Austrian.

Rabiot came close to joining United last summer but a deal did not materialise due to a disagreement over personal terms.

The World Cup finalist is convinced to join the club this time around and the club are looking to sign him as soon as possible.
