Partey: going nowhere

Arsenal have turned down yet another bid from Saudi Arabia, as Al-Hilal's £50 million bid has been rejected for Thomas Partey. The Gunners have so far deployed Partey in a right-sided role of defence, as the club adjusts their tactics for the new season and battles with injuries to the likes of Jurrien Timber. However, Partey's future looks set to be with the Gunners, as the club again turned down an offer.

Partey is said to be open to a move if the North London side do not want to keep him, and the former Atletico Madrid man could earn nearly three times his current salary at Arsenal if he opted to make the move.

Mikel Arteta is said to be furious at the relentless approach for the Ghana international midfielder, who he wants to keep as the partner for Declan Rice in a new-look midfield.

The Gunners spent big to sign Declan Rice this summer, and Partey had been widely linked with a departure from the Emirates.

However, the latest news suggests that Arteta plans to keep Partey for the 2023/24 campaign.
