Swedberg for Spurs?

Williot Swedberg has emerged as a shock transfer deadline day target for Tottenham, as the club's Swedish attacker Dejan Kulusevski recommends the 19-year-old Stockholm-born attacking midfielder to White Hart Lane representatives. Williot Swedberg has played for Celta Vigo since 2022, and began his career in his home country with Hammarby IF.

Despite only having played three times for Celta, Kulusevski has informed the club's hierarchy that Swedberg is one of the best young players from his country, and the under-19 international has already appeared 18 times for the national youth side, returning five goals.

Celta Vigo do not want to sell the Swedish youngster, but have been tempted by the reported 18 million euros Spurs are willing to pay to acquire the player.

With other teams also interested in Swedberg, Tottenham want to move fast. It is understood that representatives of Real Madrid have been tracking the Swedish starlet, and in Germany, Borussia Dortmund have a long-term interest in a player that they once tried to sign in 2021.

The player has a contract with the Liga outfit until 2027.
