Arsenal sanction defender's loan move to Premier League club
Arsenal have sanctioned the departure of Nuno Tavares to Nottingham Forest on an initial loan agreement.
The Portuguese was deemed surplus to requirements by the Gunners, and they have now accepted his loan exit.
He will join Steve Cooper's side for around £1 million. They will have the option to buy him for £12m.
Aside from Tavares, the likes of Rob Holding and Cedric Soares are also expected to leave very soon.
Holding is the subject of interest from multiple Spanish clubs. Sevilla are among keen on his services.
Arsenal are planning to make a late signing, but they are not in concrete talks with anyone as of now.
A versatile defender could be their priority before the deadline following the injury for Jurrien Timber.
Kyle Walker-Peters was on the club's radar at the beginning of the month and they could return for him.
It remains to be seen whether Southampton will listen to offers at such a late stage in the transfer window.
