Arsenal to make shock swoop for Kalvin Phillips?
Arsenal could make a surprise swoop for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips at the beginning of the New Year.
The Gunners currently have Declan Rice as their preferred number six with Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny to provide back-up.
However, there is continuous speculation over Jorginho's future and he could leave the Gunners at some point next year.
Amidst this, Fichajes claim that the north London club view Phillips as a possible successor to the Italy international.
The former Leeds United man has endured a tough spell with the Cityzens and he has barely started in the Premier League.
He was linked with West Ham United during the summer transfer window, but he ultimately decided to fight for his spot.
His stance could change in the future if he continues to struggle for minutes. He is currently the third choice holding midfielder.
Rodri is the number one choice for Pep Guardiola when available. Matheus Nunes, who joined in the summer, is the immediate back-up.
