Newcastle to battle Man Utd & Arsenal for striker?
Newcastle United have joined Manchester United and Arsenal in the race to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney at the end of the campaign.
The England international recently returned to action after an eight-month betting ban. He has immediately impressed with three goals.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has admitted that Toney will be sold in the summer and the striker is also ready to pursue a bigger move.
Manchester United and Arsenal are among his main admirers, but it is claimed that the Magpies could also enter the hunt for him.
Both Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak have been injury prone at Newcastle. The former came on the cusp of being sold earlier last month.
The Tyneside outfit are likely to listen to offers for him this summer and they view Toney as an ideal replacement ahead of next season.
Toney has ambitions of playing in the Champions League. As thing stand, Arsenal look best placed to sign the 27-year-old marksman.
