Arsenal & Spurs ready to battle for Newcastle star

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur could compete for the signature of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer.

The Sweden international has had a fantastic season with the Magpies and he has netted 18 goals from just 31 appearances.

Both the Gunners and Spurs are keeping tabs on him and The Sun claim that they could enter a bidding war for his services.

Magpies boss Eddie Howe recently said that Isak is not for sale, but the club could be forced to sell amid FFP concerns.

The club need to recoup close to £100m this summer in order to avoid a potential points deduction for next season.

Bruno Guimaraes and Isak are the most valuable players in the squad. The latter is currently attracting the most interest.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham seem prepared to break the bank with a £100m offer which could urge the Magpies to sell him.

Arsenal are craving for a marquee striker to lead the line. The same can be said for Spurs, who are yet to replace Harry Kane after his exit.
