UCL giants one step away from signing Chelsea star

Atletico Madrid are one step away from signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on a permanent basis, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The La Liga giants recently opened talks with the Blues for the England international and have now agreed payment terms over a €35m fee.

They still need to finalise personal terms with Gallagher. Atletico are likely to hold talks with the midfielder to find an agreement in the coming days.

Gallagher is currently in the final year of his contract. He is likely to accept the proposal from Atletico as he does not want to play for a rival.

The likes of West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in his services, but Gallagher prefers to move abroad in his career.

Aside from Gallagher, the likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana are expected to be sold in the coming weeks.

The Blues could make a late swoop for a marquee striker depending on the funds recouped from the departures in the coming weeks.
