Arsenal want to beat Man Utd to striker deal in January
Arsenal are planning to beat Manchester United to the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha, according to Caught Offside.
The north London giants had a slow start to the campaign, but they have picked up momentum since the international break with three wins on the bounce.
Despite this, the club could spend in the transfer market next month and reports claim that contact has been made with Cunha's agents amid interest from United.
Cunha has been a revelation for Wolves in the early part of the campaign and he has already registered seven goals and three assists in the Premier League season.
Wolves could be open to selling him for around £50 million, but the big question remains whether they can persuade them into an early winter deal instead of the summer.
Kai Havertz has fared well as the main striker for the Gunners, but manager Mikel Arteta may want a strong competitor in the squad, given Gabriel Jesus has failed to impress.
