Mikel Arteta on summer transfer plans at Arsenal
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken about the club's summer transfer plans following the 2-1 Premier League win over Southampton on the road.
The Gunners ended the campaign on a high with a victory at St Mary's and speaking after the game, Arteta was asked about the summer ahead.
In response, the Spanish tactician revealed that the coaches have to put their plans together with the hierarchy after analysing potential targets.
He said: "Yeah with the coaches analyse everything. Put all the plans together. Things have to be planned out decided."
Arsenal are expected to enter the transfer market for a marquee striker.
Alexander Isak may not be an attainable option after Newcastle United guaranteed their spot in the Champions League next term.
The club have several alternatives on their wishlist. Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are among names that have been linked.
Aside from a striker, the club could recruit a versatile winger, a backup goalkeeper and a defensive midfielder ahead of next season.
