Manchester United are preparing to submit an opening offer worth €40 million to sign Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi this summer.

The Red Devils presently have Andre Onana as their regular choice in goal, but the Cameroon international has been guilty of several errors.

He has committed eight errors leading to goals over the past two seasons and reports claim that United are open to offloading him for a decent fee.

Amidst this, Alfredo Pedulla claims that United are ready to make an offer worth €40 million to purchase Carnesecchi from Atalanta this summer.

The Bergamo outfit presently value him at a higher price of €45-50m, but it is claimed that United can meet the figure by including future bonuses.

Carnesecchi has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in Italian football and he has been tipped to pursue a bigger challenge soon.

Despite United's concrete interest, any deal could depend on Onana heading for the exit door. Otherwise, the club are unlikely to pursue a move.
