Aston Villa to sign Brazilian star ahead of Chelsea

Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Juventus to land Chelsea target Douglas Luiz on loan with an option to buy this summer.

Luiz emerged as a top target for the Blues earlier this month. The west London outfit were exploring a short-term loan for the Brazilian.

However, the deal did not materialise due to the proposed terms, and Villa have now won the race to re-sign him on loan with a buy clause.

Luiz returned to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest on loan last summer, but his spell was unsuccessful with the change of managers.

His loan stint has been cut short so that he can join the Villans.

Luiz could be drafted straight into the starting XI at the Midlands outfit, given they are experiencing a midfield injury crisis at the moment.

Youri Tielemans, Boubacar Kamara, John McGinn and Ross Barkley are out injured. Luiz could play a big part in the season run-in.
