Liverpool eye Newcastle's Milner

Liverpool are set to ruffle a few feathers at Newcastle after reportedly making a public offer for England under-21 star James Milner.

The former Leeds United and Aston Villa midfielder is doing well at St. James Park, and Rafa Benitez has reportedly made Milner another of his summer transfer targets.

It is understood that Liverpool have offered Newcastle £4 million plus the choice of three players from a pool of five, which includes young defenders Emiliano Insua and Jack Hobbs.

Kevin Keegan is sure to be a little angry with any offers for Milner, who he regards as one of his best players.
