How Chelsea should lineup vs Burnley

Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-3) vs Burnley

10 February 2017 - 14:33

Chelsea will seek to extend their nine-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the league standings when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?
  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?

  • The Clarets have had an excellent home record this season having won nine of their 13 games, and this is only bettered by Spurs and the Blues.

    Formation: 3-4-3

    Lineup:

Thibaut Courtois: The Belgian has been the Mr.dependable for the Blues this season. His saves against Arsenal were eventually key to their convincing 3-1 win.

Cesar Azpilcueta: Has not got much credit this season, but he still remains a key player under Antonio Conte.

David Luiz: The Brazil international has earned the plaudits for his recent exploits including his sublime free-kick versus Liverpool.

Gary Cahill: The skipper has been solid at the back this seasonĀ and still has the ability to get a goal or two from set pieces.

Victor Moses: The Nigeria international has managed to make the right wing-back role his own this season owing to the Blues' lack of reinforcements in the position.

Marcos Alonso: Alonso had initially received stick for his performances before he turned up with a brace in the win over Leicester City. He also netted a header in the victory over the Gunners last weekend.

N'Golo Kante: Surely the man-of-the-match versus Arsenal if not for Eden Hazard's sublime solo effort. The Frenchman is a sure starter in the holding role.

Cesc Fabregas: The Spaniard has impressed from the substitutes' bench on occasions, and his threaded passes could be key to breaking the Clarets backline.

Eden Hazard: The star of the previous week. Hazard is currently carrying a minor calf problem, but this is unlikely to prevent him from making the starting lineup.

Willian: The attacker was benched in favour of Pedro in the previous game. It may be the opposite this time around.

Diego Costa: Costa has already notched 15 goals this campaign, and he will seek to further his account against the Clarets, who are known to be defensively sound at home.
