Manchester City readying Donnarumma bid

Donnarumma has a bright future ahead of him

Manchester City readying Donnarumma bid

23 March 2017 - 18:10

Manchester City could be preparing to end their goalkeeping woes in the next transfer window, by offering up to £130 million for AC Milan sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma.

  • Chelsea duo return to partial team training
  • Chelsea planning to sell Sterling to sign Crystal Palace star?

  • Goalkeeping has been a common topic in regards to Manchester City this season, with fan favourite Joe Hart being loaned out, whilst Claudio Bravo has put in some unconvincing performances since arriving. Now Football Italia reports that Manchester City are preparing to offer AC Milan up to £130 million to assure that they get hold of teenage sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma has been fantastic since he emerged into the AC Milan team, and despite being just eighteen years old, has been named by many as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The current highest ever transfer fee for a goalkeeper was for Gianluigi Buffon back in 2001, when Juventus paid Parma £32.6 million. If this deal goes through, it will completely blitz that record, along with the record fee for any player, which is currently held by Paul Pogba.

Donnarumma currently has a year left on his contract with the Milan club, and his agent has recently spoken out about the potential takeover by Chinese investors. Donnarumma's agent Mino Raiola called the investors "embarrassing", casting doubt over whether or not the stopper will sign a new contract at the San Siro.
