Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-3) vs Liverpool, Giroud and Hazard start

05 May 2018 - 08:22

Chelsea entertain Liverpool in a season-defining encounter at Stamford Bridge this weekend. The Blues are currently trailing Tottenham Hotspur by five points for the final Champions League spot and they need to pick up three points on Sunday in order to have any hopes of catching their London rivals.

  • Arsenal linked with new shotstopper as backup to Raya
  • Juventus and Roma to battle for 20yo Arsenal star

  • Formation: 3-4-3

    Lineup:

Thibaut Courtois has been the undisputed first-choice between the sticks and the Belgian should retain his spot in goal. The shot-stopper can expect a busy evening with the likes of Mohamed Salah in the opposite ranks.

In defence, Conte may not resort to any changes and this should witness Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill and Antonio Conte maintain their positions in a three-man backline.

At right wing-back, Victor Moses should start after returning to form of late and he should be accompanied by Marcos Alonso in the opposite side following the completion of his three-man retrospective ban.

N'Golo Kante has not been in the best of form this season but the Frenchman remains a consistent figure in the centre of the park alongside Cesc Fabregas whose passing attributes make him a valuable addition.

Further forward, Eden Hazard should retain his spot on the left side of the attack despite his patchy form and he is likely to be accompanied by Willian on the right wing and Olivier Giroud upfront.
