Chelsea striker confirms stay

Chelsea striker confirms stay

04 August 2018 - 05:40

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has confirmed that he will be staying at the club for the 2018/2019 season.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • There has been talk of him leaving Stamford Bridge after failing to meet expectations last season, but that will not make the club offload him just yet.

According to the Daily Mirror, the former Real Madrid player talked to the Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia and manager Maurizio Sarri about staying at the club and they accepted.

Apart from Morata, Chelsea also have Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi, who can also give them goals but both have been linked with a move out of the club.

Batshuayi will reportedly be sent out on loan despite doing well at Borussia Dortmund last season. Giroud has also been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid despite only coming to Stamford Bridge in January.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, but the German club have ruled out a move.

Chelsea will face Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday and it is expected that Morata will be leading the attack against the Citizens.
