Predicted Manchester United lineup (4-3-3) vs Chelsea, Rashford and Martial start

19 October 2018 - 18:54

Manchester United will be aiming to secure successive Premier League wins when they make the trip to the English capital to face Chelsea tomorrow. The Red Devils have made an average start to the season and they are currently seven points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Formation: 4-3-3

    Predicted Lineup:

David de Gea has been the undisputed choice for the number one role under Jose Mourinho and there are no question marks regarding his position. He should start in goal for the eighth straight league game.

In defence, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw should keep their positions on the right and left side of the backline but we are anticipating a change in the central defensive department with Victor Lindelof coming in to partner Chris Smalling in Eric Bailly's expense.

In the midfield, Jose Mourinho is likely to want workrate and tenacity in his team and this may witness a return for Ander Herrera, who has just come back from a knee injury. Alongside him, we are fancying Fred and Paul Pogba to start with regular Nemanja Matic doubtful to feature with a back problem.

Onto the attack, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are likelier candidates to get the nod over Alexis Sanchez for the positions out wide. Rashford has been guilty of missing clear-cut chances of late but he comes into the game following a strong display which included a goal and an assist in England's 3-2 triumph over Spain.

Likewise, Martial has improved his showing of late and his key goal in the 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle United should be sufficient for him to retain his position. Aside from this, Romelu Lukaku should lead the line without any sort of doubt, given Mourinho has previously indicated that the striker's position is untouchable.
