  • The north London side are currently one point behind the Champions League places but they have the game in hand over Newcastle which could take them up to the third spot.

    Formation: 3-4-1-2

    Predicted Lineup:

Bernd Leno has been the undisputed choice for the goalkeeping role in the Premier League and the German should keep his position for the Magpies encounter. In the backline, no changes are expected with Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis and Nacho Monreal making up the three-man central defence while Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Nacho Monreal will most certainly take up the central defensive positions.

However, there could be a solitary change in the midfield with Granit Xhaka requiring a late fitness test to confirm his appearance from the off. In his potential absence, Unai Emery could be tempted to offer Denis Suarez with his maiden start alongside Aaron Ramsey. The Spaniard recently impressed in a friendly against Al-Nasr with an assist and Emery has since hinted that the Barcelona loanee could be ready for a start.

Further forward, Emery may stick with the trident of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. The trio have started the past two matches across all competitions which the club have won, and Emery may prefer sticking with the winning combination. Aubameyang, in particular, has impressed with three goals and an assist in the period.
