Alvaro Morata speaks on his future ahead of the summer

17 May 2019 - 14:32

Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has said that he has no plans of leaving Atletico Madrid and he is determined to secure a permanent transfer from Chelsea this summer.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The marksman fell out-of-favour under Blues boss Maurizio Sarri at the turn of the year and he was thereafter permitted to join Atletico on a temporary basis.

The Europa League holders currently have the option of extending his loan contract for another 12 months and when asked about the same, Morata indicated that he wants to remain with Diego Simeone's side for the long-term.

"I want to be here [Atletico], I'm going to do everything I can to continue playing here. I did everything in my power to come, and I'll do everything in my power to stay. "I do not even consider going to another club," he told AS.

Chelsea are said to be bracing for the departure of loan striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer and they may not necessarily buy another recruit unless they can overcome their two-window transfer ban.

Aside from Morata, Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham are the other players, who are currently out on loan, and the duo could compete for gametime alongside Olivier Giroud next term, should the embargo remain.
