Andre Villas-Boas Snubs PSG To Stay At Tottenham

Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly snubbed Paris Saint-Germain, in favour of staying with Tottenham. It is understood that the in-demand manager turned down the lucrative opportunity to manage PSG, following the exit of Carlo Ancelloti, who is bound to join Real Madrid as a boss this summer.

The French champions were keen and desperate to get AVB’s assent to their proposal, considering all the efforts they had put in to lure the Portuguese manager to the French capital.

PSG, earlier had also plot a 85 million pound bid for the Spurs’ forward Gareth Bale, in addition to the acquisition attempt of Chelsea’s David Luiz as an added incentive to Boas, if he considered PSG for the next season. The affluent French club were all set to meet a €11.7 million buyout clause in the Portuguese’s contract at White Hart Lane.

Boas was understood to have been offered a three year contract by Qatari-backed PSG, but the 35-year old manager insisted on proving his loyalty to Spurs for hiring him last summer despite a disappointing spell at Chelsea. AVB expects to build a stronger and more capable squad ahead of next season so that the Spurs could reach the Champions League.

Villas-Boas is also partly motivated and excited by the prospect of his rivalry with his compatriot and mentor Jose Mourinho, Chelsea’s boss.
After a final denial by Villas-Boas, it is being speculated that PSG will turn to their plan B – Fabio Capello. Reports suggest that the former England coach could be the new PSG manager for next season.
