Southampton make formal enquiry for Danny Ings
Newly promoted Premier League outfit Burnley have received a formal enquiry from Southampton over the availability of star striker Danny Ings.
According to The Mail, the Saints are keen to strengthen their attacking department during the summer transfer window, and consider the England Under-21 international as one of their prime targets.
The report also claims that Clarets boss Sean Dyche would allow the striker's departure for a fee of around £8m.
Southampton are likely to make wholesale signings this summer, having already sold Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.
Saints skipper Adam Lallana is also believed to be on the verge of joining Liverpool.
