Divock Origi completes Liverpool transfer
Belgium international forward Divock Origi has agreed a 15.9 million euro transfer from Lille to Liverpool. The forward had been linked with a host of different clubs but has decided to transfer to Brendan Rodgers' side and signed a five year contract at Anfield.
Origi will spend the 2014/15 season playing on loan at Lille as part of the agreement.
The highly rated forward had an impressive World Cup for Belgium and Liverpool were linked with a move for the 19-year-old for over two months as the club look for a replacement for Luis Suarez, who joined Barcelona earlier in the transfer window.
Liverpool opened talks for Origi some time ago but the player took a long holiday after the World Cup and also it is understood that Tottenham made a last minute approach for the player. Despite Spurs' interest, Origi has decided to join their Premier League rivals instead.
Origi, who played 40 games for Lille and scored 6 goals, has 8 caps for Belgium and joins Lazar Markovic and Rickie Lambert as part of a new look attack at Anfield for the upcoming campaign.
