Lucas Vasquez has emerged as a surprise target for Liverpool this summer, The Express reports.

Vasquez is currently plying his trade at Espanyol on loan from Real Madrid.

Recent reports have claimed that the 23-year-old will consider his options in the summer, with Real boss Carlo Ancelotti open to his permanent sale.

According to The Express, Vasquez will consider a switch to the Premier League with Liverpool at the end of the current campaign, should Espanyol fail to finish the season on a high.

Los Blancos currently value Vasquez at £7m.
