Southampton make bid for Carl Jenkinson

Southampton are to make a 8 million GBP move for Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson. The full back spent last season on loan at West Ham United.

Jenkinson is very highly rated at the Emirates but manager Arsene Wenger already has Mathieu Debuchy and Hector Bellerin at his disposal, not forgetting former Saints defender Calum Chambers. Arsenal are to listen to offers for Jenkinson and are confident that Southampton will match their asking price. The Saints are looking to replace Nathaniel Clyne, who joined Liverpool earlier in the transfer window for 15 million.
