Koscielny could miss PSG game

Arsenal centre-half Laurent Koscielny is a doubt for midweek's Champions League clash against Paris Saint-German after he took a boot to the face during the Gunners' fortuitous win over Southampton on Saturday.

The Frenchman celebrated his birthday on the day as he netted a sublime overhead kick to bring the Gunners level. But, he was seen in distress in the final minutes of the encounter as he suffered a blow to his face just prior to the Gunners' winner.

Santi Cazorla gave the Gunners' a dramatic 2-1 win in injury time as he scored from the penalty spot after Jose Fonte was deemed to have fouled Olivier Giroud.

Manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the 31-year-old could fail to make the travelling squad for Tuesday night's game as he has a swelling which has yet to go down.

"Koscielny has a problem with his face. He’s with the doctor now. I haven’t spoken to him yet, but it is very swollen," Wenger told reporters.

The 66-year-old also admitted that debutants Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez were not up to the mark as they still lack match fitness.

Should things stand as it is, young defender Rob Holding will earn his Champions League debut alongside Mustafi at Parc des Princes.
