Barcelona targeting January move for Arsenal's Bellerin

Barca ready bid to resign the Spaniard

FC Barcelona will make a January move to sign Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin in January, according to reports.

The Mirror is reporting that Spanish champions FC Barcelona will make a €35 million swoop for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin when the transfer market re-opens in January.

Bellerin was part of the Barcelona youth system before leaving to join Arsenal, and, similar to Cesc Fabregas, could return to the Blaugrana in the future.

The Catalan giants made a series of moves in the summer transfer market with a view to strengthening their squad in several areas, at a total cost of around £100 million.

In came midfielders Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez from Valencia and Villarreal respectively, French duo Samual Umiti and Lucas Digne were brought in to bolster the defence, goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen was signed from Ajax and striker Paco Alcacer was signed from Valencia.

But, having lost legendary full-back Dani Alves to Juventus on a free transfer, Barça elected not to sign a right-back to replace the outgoing Brazilian, and have instead deployed Spain international Sergi Roberto, usually a midfielder, in that role, with Aleix Vidal serving as back up.

Sergi Roberto has put in a some outstanding performances in his new position so far this season, but it would seem that Barcelona have set their sights on a more natural fit for the right-back role, and are willing to break the bank to bring Bellerin back to the club.
