'Exceptional talent' or nothing for Jose Mourinho
'Exceptional talent' or nothing for Jose Mourinho
Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho will spend in the New Year only if he finds an exceptional talent to add to his squad.
The Red Devils spent big over the summer as they recruited the likes of Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba for a combined £150m fee whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived on a Bosman.
It has been previously suggested that the Special One may not dip into the January window as he is comfortable with the players in hand for the campaign.
However, according to The Mirror, the former Chelsea boss could do a little bit of spending, should he get the chance to land a recruit he adores the most.
Leicester City's Danny Drinkwater is believed to be United's top target for the winter period, and it will be interesting to see whether they could get the deal done, given the Foxes' reluctance to offload their prime assets.
Drinkwater is likely to cost in excess of £30m, having inked a fresh five-year deal earlier this summer.
