Everton boss confirms defender interest
Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Burnley centre-half Michael Keane is a deadline day target for Everton. The 24-year-old has also been linked with Manchester City and Leicester City this month.
Keane, 24, has been in fine form for the Clarets this season, and this has earned him a call-up to the England national side on two separate occasions.
While speaking to reporters, Koeman confirmed that he is interested in the former Manchester United graduate, but he is unsure whether a deal could be struck before the transfer deadline.
"He is one of that list. Defenders in that position. But I heard he's on more lists of different teams," he said.
Keane is currently valued in the £20m range, but the Clarets are reluctant to do business at such a late stage in the transfer window.
The Toffees boss also insisted that Phil Jagielka will be staying at Goodison Park for the season even if the club bring in a late addition to their squad.
