Claudio Marchisio news

Marchisio wanted at Chelsea

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on a reunion with Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio at the end of the campaign.

The pair have worked together at both Juventus and Italy, and the 47-year-old is said to want the anchorman at Stamford Bridge next season.

According to Tutto Mercato, the west London giants could make a move for Marchisio in the summer with Conte keen on adding more options in midfield.

Marchisio played in the heart of a midfield in the 5-3-2 formation under Conte and the Italian could favour a similar approach at Stamford Bridge for the next campaign.

Cesc Fabregas has struggled for regular playing time with the Premier League leaders this term, and he could be the player to make way for Marchisio, who has spent his entire career in Turin.

Nevertheless, Marchisio has more than three years left on his existing contract, and this could put off Chelsea from making an approach unless Juventus place a reasonable price tag.

Marchisio has appeared over 350 times for Max Allegri's men since making his league debut during the 2006-07 season - when Juventus were relegated to Serie B due to their match-fixing involvement.
