Mauricio Pochettino to rest key players for Fulham clash
Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino is likely to play a number of fringe players when his side take on Fulham in the FA Cup Fifth Round.
The North London club failed to make the most of their Europa League last 32 first-leg as they surprisingly lost 1-0 to Gent on Thursday night.
Following the defeat, Pochettino admitted that he will rotate his squad for the cup clash at Craven Cottage given the likes of Harry Kane and many others suffered minor knocks.
"I think we need to assess some players. Harry Kane got a knock on his knee, different players too," he told reporters.
"We need to refresh the team and we'll do that. Tottenham will play in Fulham on Sunday. It's not the name of the players, it's the club. We'll see, but we'll put out a team with aims to win and be ready again to compete."
Spurs earned a dramatic 4-3 comeback win over fourth-tier Wycombe Wanderers in the previous round, but they will have to come with a much better display versus their London rivals, who are unbeaten in their last four outings at home.
