Guardiola Keeps Hart Waiting

Joe Hart news

Joe Hart could leave Man City on a free transfer

Goalkeeping has been a common subject of conversation in regards to Manchester City this season, and manager Pep Guardiola has explained that he will not inform former number one Joe Hart whether he has a future at the club until the end of the season.

Hart is currently on loan with Serie A side Torino until the end of the season, and has kept five clean sheets in the Italian premier division so far. Hart is a highly popular figure at Manchester City, and many fans were disappointed when Pep Guardiola revealed that he was not part of his plans.

Hart's replacement was Claudio Bravo, who signed from Barcelona for £15.4 million in the summer. Bravo has not impressed in the Premier League so far, with a string of errors drawing attention to Guardiola's decision to send an established Premier League goalkeeper out on loan.

Willy Caballero has recently been brought into the side to replace Bravo, with some good performances in the City goal, as he looks to become the first choice. Despite the good performances, Guardiola has expressed his need for a goalkeeper who can pass the ball well, and it is questionable as to whether Caballero can do that better than Hart.

Hart's contract expires at the end of the season, and with several Premier League clubs showing interest in the England number one, City may risk losing him on a free. Guardiola admits that this is a possibility, but when asked about the future of Hart, he says simply "We will talk about it at the end of the season."
