Valverde wants to make an immediate impact on Barcelona

New Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde wants to implement changes to the Catalan club quickly and has already decided which players he wants to sell in the summer.

Valverde took over from Luis Enrique after Barcelona's 3-1 win over Alaves in the Copa Del Rey final. The Catalan club lost their La Liga crown to bitter rivals Real Madrid and also crashed out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage this past season, losing 3-0 to Juventus over two legs.

Spanish news outlet Diario Gol has reported that Valverde wants to implement changes as quickly as possible and the first agenda on his list is clearing out unwanted players.

According to the report, there are nine players Valverde wants to sell:

Jeremy Mathieu, Javier MascheranoArda Turan, André Gomes, Rafinha, Aleix Vidal, Lucas Digne, Denis Suárez and Paco Alcácer.

Valverde is reportedly not convinced these players can reach the level required to play for the Catalan club and deems it imperative to bring in players of a higher caliber to replace them.

The 53-year-old Spaniard is also planning to bring in at least one centre-back, right-back, and midfielder to ensure Barcelona gets back to winning form next season.
