Mourinho wants Tottenham star ahead of Ronaldo
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is said to prefer the signing of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane ahead of fellow compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, now 32, has been linked with a proposed move to Old Trafford following tax fraud accusation by Spanish authorities.
According to The Mirror, Mourinho is not against a deal for Ronaldo this summer, but he would rather favour the signing of Spurs frontman Harry Kane.
The Special One is also keen on a deal for Ronaldo's teammate Alvaro Morata who he sees as the perfect fit alongside Kane in the United frontline.
Kane, who won the Premier League Golden Boot with 29 goals last season, inked a fresh long-term deal at Spurs last summer, and it is highly unlikely that Daniel Levy will sanction a sale unless a world-record deal is put on the table.
Manchester United are currently short of potential goalscoring strikers in their ranks after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was released due to his long-term injury.
Ibrahimovic contributed 28 goals during the 2016/17 season before he damaged his cruciate ligaments in the Europa League quarter-final against Anderlecht.
