Barcelona weighing up move for Riyad Mahrez

Spanish giants Barcelona are plotting an attempt to sign Riyad Mahrez during this summer's transfer window. The Algeria international was recently a transfer target for AS Roma.
Mahrez, 26, has been pushing for a potential exit from the King Power Stadium this summer, but he has so far been unsuccessful with none of his suitors matching his £50m asking price.
Roma had maintained a keen interest in Mahrez over the past month, but they have also cooled their pursuit with sporting director insisting that the Giallorossi will not be upping their £32m offer.
According to Sport, Barcelona could revive their interest in former target Mahrez with both Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho being restricted from leaving Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool respectively.
The Catalan club lost Neymar to Pars Saint-Germain for a staggering £198m this month, and they have since been on the hunt for a replacement without much success.
Mahrez played the full 90 minutes of the 4-3 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League opener, and he is expected to stay, should a transfer agreement not be reached.
