Predicted Man United XI vs West Brom

Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend with an away trip to West Bromwich Albion. The Red Devils are currently one point ahead of Liverpool for the runner-up spot, but they have a couple of games in hand over Jurgen Klopp's side.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Lineup:

David de Gea could not extend his tally of 16 clean sheets last weekend, but he made an excellent point-blank save to deny Sergio Aguero in the derby win. He is expected to start in goal.

In defence, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are certain to command the right and left-back positions respectively whilst Chris Smalling should take up his regular central defensive role alongside Eric Bailly.

With a two-man midfield, Ander Herrera could be sacrificed to the bench regardless of his impressive performance in the derby. In this case, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic are certainties to feature at the heart of the midfield.

Further forward, Mourinho may offer a much-needed start to Marcus Rashford, who has impressed with every opportunity offered from the bench.

The Englishman should command the right-wing role with Alexis Sanchez on the left whilst Jesse Lingard is a strong candidate to retain his number 10 role.

Upfront, Romelu Lukaku has been the undisputed choice, and the Belgian will be looking to extend his 26-goal tally for the campaign. Lukaku has enjoyed good success against West Brom with five goals in just eight meetings.
