Jose Mourinho identiifies £40m ace to replace Anthony Martial
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho could reportedly launch an attempt to sign Richarlison, should Anthony Martial head through the exit door during the summer.
Martial, 22, has received limited gametime since Alexis Sanchez's arrival at Old Trafford sources suggest that the Frenchman could push through an exit during the off-season.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils are open to the Frenchman's departure with Mourinho having set his sights on pursuing Richarlison from Watford.
The Brazilian started the campaign in fine fashion with five goals and two assists, and though his performances have dropped off in 2018, he has won himself plenty of admirers.
Watford are currently said to value Richarlison at around £40m and his availability is understood to have attracted interest from some of United's rivals including Arsenal and Chelsea.
Martial played through the entire 90 minutes in the 2-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth last night but it will be interesting to see whether the Frenchman will start ahead of Sanchez in the FA Cup semi-final.
United were humbled by Tottenham Hotspur in their previous league outing and the club require a strong showing to oust Mauricio Pochettino's side from the famous old competition.
