Antonio Conte reacts to Chelsea's win over Burnley
Antonio Conte has hailed Chelsea's 'fantastic spirit' as they secured a 2-1 triumph over Burnley in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Kevin Long's own goal had given the Blues a first half lead before Ashley Barnes levelled the scores in the 64th minute of the match.
Victor Moses, who was the Blues' star performer, eventually found the winner five minutes later and this has maintained the club's slender hopes of making the top four.
Speaking after the game, Conte was pleased with a victory over a tough opponent and he was pleased with the two striker partnership of Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.
"We played a good game against a difficult team because it is not simple to play against Burnley," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport following the match.
"We played the game very well and the two strikers worked very well. They played a fantastic game with and without the ball. The whole team played an intensive game. We deserved to win."
With back-to-back victories, the Blues have shortened the gap to fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur to just five points. Nevertheless, they still require their rivals to drop points in the final four games of the campaign.
Chelsea face Southampton in Sunday's FA Cup semi-final at the Wembley Stadium and they are genuine favourites to progress to the final, barring a shocking performance.
