Tottenham eyeing deal for Manchester United winger?
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning an approach to sign Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial during the summer transfer window.
The France international had a poor end to the season with the Red Devils and he was only a late substitute in the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
Juventus have been long linked with a move for the former AS Monaco man but according to Evening Standard, Spurs could be prepared to rival them for the 22-year-old forward.
It is added that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino does not want to sign a centre-forward to add competition to Harry Kane, but he is interested in a player who can operate in different attacking roles.
Martial was one of United's most in-form players during the first six months of the campaign but his form nosedived following the winter signing of Alexis Sanchez.
With Sanchez aboard, Martial was more or less restricted from his preferred left-wing role and when offered opportunities later on, he struggled to replicate his early season form.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are said to be interested in signing Spurs contract rebel Toby Alderweireld and this could probably witness a swap deal between the sides.
