Aaron Ramsey close to new Arsenal contract
Arsenal are supposedly close to rewarding midfielder Aaron Ramsey with a new long-term deal.
The Wales international has recently been linked with a possible move to Chelsea but the deal appears unlikely to happen with the Gunners edging nearer to extending his contract.
According to The Telegraph, the north London club are in advanced negotiations with Ramsey regarding an extension and the deal could be announced in the next few days.
Ramsey's future has been a key talking point during the course of the summer transfer window but the focus may lie elsewhere on deadline day with Unai Emery looking to offload some of the club's fringe players.
Lucas Perez is seemingly on the cusp of swapping the Gunners for West Ham United in the coming hours and the likes of Danny Welbeck and David Ospina could follow him through the Emirates exit door.
Welbeck has been linked with the likes of Everton, Southampton and West Ham United and he could get his wish to join a Premier League rival before the deadline.
On the other hand, Ospina has been in talks with Turkish heavyweights Besiktas regarding a possible switch. The Colombia may take up the number one role left vacant by the departure of Fabri.
