Barcelona to continue Pogba chase

Paul Pogba news

Barcelona will continue chasing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba even after the transfer window closes by the end of the month.

Barcelona had made a cash plus two players bid for the Frenchman that involved €50m, Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina, but United rejected it.

According to the Telegraph, Barca are likely to return in January or next summer with an improved bid for the former Juventus man.

In the meantime, they will monitor the player's situation at the club, in respect to his relationship with Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman was given the captain's armband in United's Premier League win over Leicester City, a move that is seen by many as a way of sweetening his stay at the Old Trafford side.

With United highly unlikely to sell their star man this transfer window, it remains to be seen if the World Cup winner will be able to sort his issues with Mourinho and stay at United longer than this season.

The France international is into his third season in his second spell at United after re-signing from Juve in the summer of 2016.
