Liverpool suffer fresh injury blow with defender out for three weeks
Liverpool have suffered a fresh injury blow with defender Dejan Lovren expected to be sidelined for around three weeks due to a pelvic problem.
Earlier this month, Lovren confirmed that he could not train with the Reds as a result of the issue and he would be visiting a specialist in the Netherlands to find a solution.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has now confirmed that the centre-back could be sidelined for around three weeks and the Croatian's absence adds to the injury woes at the heart of the defence.
Apart from Lovren, the likes of Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip are in the treatment room with injuries sustained in pre-season and this leaves Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez as the only fit senior centre-backs.
Liverpool started their Premier League campaign in a sublime fashion as they secured a comfortable 4-0 triumph over Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday.
