Jurgen Klopp drops update on Dominic Solanke's position
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed the possibility of Dominic Solanke making way from Anfield before the end of the current month.
The Englishman has been touted for a loan move to Rangers this summer with former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard identifying him as a suitable replacement for the departed Josh Windass.
However, speaking in a news conference, Klopp has stressed the striker is no close to leaving the Reds and a deal may not happen before the transfer deadline approaches overseas, he said: "I hear for the first time now. So it doesn't look like it is close to happening."
Solanke made 27 appearances for the Reds during his debut season last term but his gametime could be reduced this time around with Daniel Sturridge likely to receive more opportunities after excelling during pre-season.
Liverpool started their Premier League campaign with a comfortable 4-0 win over West Ham United and they are now scheduled to tackle Crystal Palace in Monday's league showdown at Selhurst Park.
