Roberto Firmino has come under criticism for his slow start to the new Premier League season but enjoys backing from his manager, Jurgen Klopp.

The Brazilian striker formed a deadly trio with Senegalese winger Sadio Mane and Egyptian masterclass Mohamed Salah to romp up a sparkling end to the last campaign which saw them reach the Champions league final and a top four placement in the domestic league.

Also he served as an important character on the frontline, adjustable to Klopp's pressing football tactics, scoring 27 goals and managing 17 assists for three season.

Although Firmino managed an assist in the 4-0 battering of West Ham in the league opener, his performance in the first two games of the new season wasn't totally convincing. That concludes the reason behind criticism from the fans, making Klopp to field a full support for him.

In his press conference, Klopp explained Firmino's condition at the moment.

"He's fit and I think he had a good start," Klopp declared. "he had two weeks preseason which is very short one for a player who needs his physical fitness as Roberto does but I'm completely happy."

"He's involved in all our offensive situations, even with opening the gap with a run or playing the pass. It is all fine. It is exactly how it should be at this moment and he can improve like we all improve. He's experienced enough to know he did not have the longest of preseason. It is quite difficult to play game so early."
