Sarri provides Kovacic injury update
Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri has allayed fears over Mateo Kovacic's injury, saying that it is not too serious.
The Real Madrid loanee was taken off early in the second of Chelsea's 4-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday due to an injury.
Speaking after the game, Sarri said, football.london reports: "No. No. I spoke to the doctor a minute again and he said it was nothing serious."
With Chelsea facing PAOK in the Europa League next Thursday, it remains to be seen if the player will be ready to feature as Sarri did not provide an update to that effect.
Since his move from Real Madrid, Kovacic has played four Premier League games, with just one of those coming from the bench.
In his absence, it is expected that Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Ross Barkley who came on for him against Cardiff will be in contention to take his place in midfield.
Chelsea, alongside Liverpool are the only EPL sides to have a 100 percent record, having won all their league games this season.
